NAS Drives

As the need for computing grows so does the storage capacity. Networked Attached Drive or NAS, as it is most commonly known, is basically a network hard drive storage device for intended for networked computers. This is to increase the network storage capacity without having to go over several computers within the network. As you may see, this approach is far simpler. As this is targeted to the cause of the problem and not changing the whole system that is not needed this can reduce extra expenses on some parts.

One might also think about file security especially if you’re connected to the internet. With a NAS drive you can have a hardware –based data encryption which can deter file theft thus ensuring safety of your precious files. This is feature is valuable because this device can be used as a FTP server. File access can be valuable and this is great for those that are always on the go.

Having backups is also as important for your system. And you know how hard it can be when the system crashes right. It would be a pain when you have to redo all the files from scratch, not to mention how time consuming it is setting up the system. Some drives even have an auto backup feature such as the Iomega Home Media 1 TB. You can set it up to have timely backups at the end of each day without much worry.
